Our approach

Learn the skill.
Understand the game.

SwishLab™ helps athletes build the tools to play with confidence and the understanding to use them. We teach players to recognize space, create advantages and make decisions under pressure.

That work starts with trust. From a young player’s first dribble to an experienced guard refining a read, our coaches pair clear instruction with purposeful repetition and competition. Confidence, discipline, leadership and effort are part of every session.

“The goal isn’t just to play the game—it’s to understand it, break it down, and dominate it.”— Coach Dylan Elias

Clear instruction. Purposeful practice. SwishLab™.

A former Division I basketball player at the University of Northern Colorado, Dylan brings more than two decades of on-court experience to SwishLab™. His own game was built around a shifty handle, changes of pace and the ability to create space. Today, he breaks those skills into reads and habits athletes can use in competition.

At San Antonio’s William H. Taft High School, Dylan was a four-year varsity player and three-year captain. He earned the 2011 District 27-5A MVP award and All-Area Class 5A recognition while helping Taft finish 34–6 and reach the state tournament for the first time in 11 seasons. He played AAU basketball with the Texas D-1 Ambassadors, continued at Northern Colorado and later played at Our Lady of the Lake University.

As a coach and father, Dylan cares about the person learning the skill. He builds sessions around clear expectations, high activity and opportunities to compete, helping beginners develop confidence and experienced players become more composed decision-makers. His goal is progress that carries beyond a drill: better habits, stronger leadership and a lasting connection to the game.

Lead Skills Coach

Paul Garnica

Elite Skill Development Coach
Team Training & Player Development Specialist

Contact Coach Paul

Paul brings a scorer’s understanding of timing, space and composure to every session.

A San Antonio native, former Division I guard and professional player in Mexico, Paul knows how quickly a scoring opportunity opens and closes. At SwishLab™, he helps athletes recognize those moments, sharpen their execution and stay in control when the defense applies pressure.

Paul finished his career at Robert E. Lee High School with 3,012 points, setting San Antonio’s city high school career scoring record at the time. He averaged more than 30 points per game as a senior before joining the University of Northern Colorado. In the 2011–12 season, he led the Big Sky Conference in three-point percentage at 48.5%. He later played professionally for Halcones UV Xalapa in Mexico’s LNBP.

His coaching connects shooting mechanics and footwork to the decisions that make them effective: when to attack, when to change pace and how to read the next defender. Athletes are challenged to bring accountability and concentration to their reps, then apply that work in live competition.
